I don't think so.  LA is 350 miles from San Jose.  Las Vegas is 530 miles.

How about from Cupertino?  How about junction of 280/880(17)
  
    Sears Point  -  90 minutes (depending on traffic)
    Laguna Seca-    90 minutes
    ThunderHill   - 2.5 hrs (without stopping at the discount malls)
    ButtonWillow -   3 1/4 hrs (one stop at Burger King)
    Willow Springs - 5  ( this of course EXCLUDES Palm Springs, Tustin and
    the LA Grand Prix,  Pomona, The new Penske track, and Coronado)
    San Diego is another 175 miles from Willow Springs. So is Palm Springs
