FYI, a few years ago, a similar nightmare happened to the owner of
the Maserati Boomerang. This one-of-a-kind concept/show car was held
up at customs long enough to MISS the Concours Italiano in Carmel the
same weekend as the Historics.  They even threatened to crush the car.
The following year, the car made it in ok. I've seen it twice. The
owner lives in Germany. Good luck.
