Don't forget that in the good old days of "never raced or wrecked" (in 
many sports car ads), cherry "Alpha Romeros" (no doubt the first italian
sportscar owned by that movie star) and "Tonto covers" (snug and warm
around the campfire?) many of the ignoranti also advertised a 4 speed
with Laycock overdrive as a five speed transmission......

That FI could be SUs with a 7 lb electric fuel pump from Kragens and
worn needle and seat. Makes for a pretty good constant-flow throttle
body injection system!

Anybody have any other favorite want-ad "funnies"?   Jarl
