The newer seat designs usually incorporate a head support(read highback),
not really vintage looking..............but, a head restraint incorporated in
the roll bar design is very wise indeed...................for most stock type
seats the first things to do are to fabricate a support to anchor the seat
back to keep it from folding forward but especially to keep it from racking
side to side in corners, the second thing is to remove the seat bottom
cushion (foam) and replace it with as little high density foam as you can
make comfortable, (try 1/4" ensolite and cut it out for your tailbone etc),
then slip the stock seat upolstery over it, this helps in two ways, one to
lower the driver in the car and second it gives you a mmmmmmuch better feel
(in your butt) as to what the back of the car is doing.
