I've an interesting tale to tell... I recently was contacted by a chap
(Charlie Shalvoy) who's father-in-law, in Ohio saw fit to send his kids in
California a couple of his old toys. He was getting longish in the tooth and
figured he'd probably never get to the restoration etc etc. The toys are a
'48 MGTC and a Bugatti model 39a. Both have laid up since the 50s in bits.
The bug is a factory F1 racer with a proper history. After it's factory
successes, the first "civilian" owner was Malcolm Campbell (the Sir that
is!). The engine had been sent back to Molsheim for a redo years ago, and
was still cosmolened in it's factory crate! both cars are presently under
restoration here in Northern Calif. and will see active road and racing duty
wen completed. Eat yee hearts out!!
