Simon Favrres contribution was interesting, but I would urge the VSCCA not
to even consider letting in older cars. Last year at the VSCC's AGM in the
UK there was a vote on whether to expand our membership to all pre-war
cars, not just all pre 30 and the good PVTs. The idea of T types etc being
included was strongly voted against!!!! There is continued talk about
declining membership, but the membership remains constant. I guess that is
due to the number of cars out there. The cars will not disappear, so
people will come and go but with a constant number of cars, you get a
constant number of members.
As for youth, we have a greater sense of history than some would credit.
At a recent event over half the entrant were under 35 years of age! The
cars were mosty twice that!!!!
I for one would be unlikely to take my cars to an event full of post war
tin tops and rear engine single seaters
