     Maybe, in an issue of Vintage Racing on the TransAm series someone from 
the 
     Shelby team recounted that the forces involved would streach the tie rods 
     1/2" in the course of the race =8-0 
     
     6000 miles of racing may be all that the wheels are capable of. OTOH they 
     may be perfectly safe. Is there something akin to magnaflux that can be 
     done on magnesium?
