Probbaly not as I've never had the 2500 engine in any car. I can
speculate

Ooops! Shouldn't do that. I can't imagine how this is happening
unless something is bent or the wrong components have been used.

Sounds more like wrong steering arms to me. Are you saying that the
rubber dust cap of the track rod end (both sides?) is fouling the
brake disc? Can you email a picture by any chance?
