My previous post a few months ago on this failed to trigger a response - as=
we're now about to hang the finished front fenders, I'm hoping someone has=
a suggestion ...
The car in question is a 1954 TR2 long-door and the question is how the rea=
r bolt fastening the fender to the scuttle is inserted/tightened? There ar=
e two mounting points along the scuttle. Both use =BC inch UNF bolts that =
screw into captive nuts in the fender. The front one is obvious as there i=
s a hole in the scuttle accessible from the footwell. No access for the re=
ar bolt. While it could be loosely screwed into the captive nut and slid i=
nto the mounting point on the scuttle which is open on the bottom, how is i=
t tightened?
Surely someone has experienced this?
As always, any been-there-done-that thoughts would be muchly appreciated.
Cheers,
Brian
