There are major differences between the Alpine and the Tiger. The metalwork
inside the engine compartment is massively different to accommodate the V8
engine and if memory serves (it has been 52 years since I converted an Alpine
to a Tiger) the electrical system of the Alpine is 6 volt whereas the Tiger is
12 Volt. Also, the suspension is significantly different with the Tiger having
a Panhard bar in the rear.
That said, there are a great many cars posing as Tigers that started life as an
Alpine. Many are virtually indistinguishable from a real Tiger and many are
just superficial. The original VIN number will reveal the difference.
