I have a similar =E2=80=9Chybrid=E2=80=9D aluminum/steel jack from =
costco. I think it was about $100 for a 3 ton. So far so good.
I do have a question, the loop handles on the side, are they just for =
ease of movement, or structural? I ask because I removed mine to allow =
me to get jack stands closer to the jack. With the handles there I =
often couldn=E2=80=99t get the stands positioned where they should go as =
there are limited places support areas on many cars.
thanks,
Jeremiah

Harbor Freight has aluminum racing jack with low floor clearance.=20
I have the two-ton version and it works well.
One-and-a-half to 3-ton aluminum versions are available:
http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=3Daluminum+jack
I'm sure you can spend more (or less) elsewhere but this item seems=20
pretty well made and a good value, to me.
YMMV,
Dave
