Hi George,

I can see how, with the spacer, you can get the clearance to the =
radiator. I want to still be able to use the dog bolt=E2=80=99s head to =
turn the crank, which I don=E2=80=99t see is possible now, even if I =
manage to mount the yellow 8 blade fan backwards.

Someone referred to Macy=E2=80=99s garage (thanks!), who offer a direct =
bolt-on mechanical fan for the TR2-4A engine. It does what I want =
(clears the radiator, improves air flow, and leaves the dog bolt head =
free) for the same price as an electric fan kit, so I=E2=80=99ve ordered =
one and expect to be quite pleased.

Thanks again for all the advice,

Cliff

I used the 8 blade fan backwards on my TR4. I do not recall if I had to =
enlarge the center hole. I did have to use a spacer to move it forward =
slightly (made from a piece of plastic cutting board).

Note, it's a TR6 yellow fan, just painted black to make it a bit =
stealthy.

IMO, 1/4" clearance is adequate if the usual radiator braces are in =
place, motor mounts good, etc.

  Hi Cliff,
There is a hefty long bolt that connects it to the crank shaft.

I need to remove the fan hub extension (part 128318). I=E2=80=99ve =
taken the nuts off of the 6 bolts that pass through the pulley. It =
seems still attached solidly. Rusted in place perhaps? Or is there =
something else to be done to get this piece off?

  Thanks,
