A couple of good raps after screwing it down tight by chasing it around with
taps to cause it to bottom is the way.
Too many don't trust it and continue to support the wire wheel business.
Do not leave it loose, hoping it will tighten itself up. Just follow the
instructions on the previous link sent from vin TR.

I agree that over-tightening is bad; but personally I don't rely on the
"self tightening" effect. Although it is real, it doesn't always work. And
too loose is worse than too tight.
