I drove my TR3 to work more times than I care to remember. I recall driving
home from work one night about 8PM in an unexpected snow storm. I was
actually plowing the snow with the front of my car, afraid to stop at
intersections because I would never be able to get moving again. It wasn't a
problem though, because I was the only fool on the road. The moon was new so
the only light I had was the yellow glow from the wimpy headlights
reflecting off the snow banks.
No point in using the wipers....just kept a rag in my lap so I could wipe
the fog from the windshield and the instruments. The snow was coming in
through the ample gap between the windshield and the side curtains, hitting
me in the side of the face. I had frozen snot hanging from my mustache and a
burn mark on my right leg from the Smiths heater.
The 20 mile trip was completed without incident and as I was pulling into
the driveway I made a mental note to be sure to attend church on Sunday. I
wasn't trying to be a he-man or a car nut, it was the only vehicle I owned
at the time.
What was so good about the good old days?
Joe

Subject: [TR] Driving a Sidescreen TR to Work
I drove my TR3A to work this morning. Did anyone else on the list drive
a
sidescreen TR to work this morning? I am wondering if I am the last one or
not.
