The other common source of clunk is sticky spline shafts. Each half shaft
has a spline arrangement to accommodate halfshaft length changes resulting
from suspension travel. If these spline couplings are not kept lubricated
they tend to stick and when they finally do move they clunk.
That's an easy fix. Cracked diff mounts are not.
