Chris, check your local hardware store in the chain and cable section. You
can get crimp-on connectors for steel cable of various sizes. These are for
fastening the ends of cables together forming loops but you can crimp them onto
a cable creating the stop you need.

Subject: [TR] Cable fabrication
I need to adapt a modern cable to my tr4 choke cable. I think I have
it figured out cept for one thing. I need a little slug of what Looks
like solder ball at the end of the cable. Any one out there know how
to make a solder ball at the end of a steel cable?
Thanks chris
