No, but I do know something about thermodynamics... <g>
I cannot imagine that the mass of water and the mass of the engine
are such that the difference of a few seconds in the changing of a
thermostat would have any noticeable effect on the performance of the
engine. At best, it might dampen the hysteresis somewhat, but I
can't see how that's needed in an otherwise normal engine cooling system.
