It occurs to me that the typical hose clamp is a harder metal than the
original straps (unless I'm thinking of different straps; been quite
some time since I stared at a typical TR3 rear axle). Then there's the
fact that there's always the temptation to crank that clamp down
RealTightNow and possibly damaging the brake line.
