I concur with the perception of engines changing sounds after an oil change. I had an 88 T-bird with a hundred and forty thousand miles on it. It was beginning to sound like a sewing machine. I switched it to synthetic oil and it quited down unbelievably. Now I run synthetic in my car all the time.
