Hi Mark,
I don't know if it is the same for a TR6 as a TR3, but for the TR3 I made
one out of a bolt with an unthreaded shank. I think that the manual said use a
7/16ths drill bit to set the float clearance. I got a bolt that was like 6
inches long and the correct shank diameter, then cut off the bolt head and
threads, then smoothed the ends to avoid sharp edges. It was like a 85 cent
tool and serves me well. I have event made up extras that I give to my
derelict British car friends at Christmas.
