Dave, did you really say....."If that seems like too much trouble the prudent thing would be to disconnect the battery hot lead and connect it to chassis. This will offer a level of protection for the alternator......" Um, with a negative ground system, won't that cause a dead short to the battery and possibly blow it up??? I always thought so....
