Either way, it's a good idea to wear eye protection IMO. Even if the wheel doesn't break, it's still throwing tiny bits of metal at you at high speed. And it's no fun at all going to the eye doctor to get them ground out. Ironically, the tool he uses on your eyeball looks amazingly like a Dremel ...
