However be warned that infrared gauges are also less than perfectly accurate.
In addition to the accuracy of the instrument itself, the reading depends on the
"color" (in the infrared band) of the object being measured. Also, some
materials may reflect heat from other sources better than others, making them
appear to be hotter than they are.
