If your dead-set on doing this, I suggest clamping it to the bottom of your
luggage rack and running the wires out of the trunk through one the "TRIUMPH"
letter mounting holes. You may have to enlarge one slightly, but it can be
made weather-tight easily enough. This is where you'll get the most
visibility as it's not too low to be seen.
BTW, the official OEM and aftermarket name for this light is the "CHMSL"
pronounced "Chimsel" (for Center high-mount stop light)
