Sure, see what they make of it. The Coke bottle is a good idea, as then even if
you accidentally drop the bottle, it won't put a big slug of water into the
engine (which could do some serious damage).
I've never tried water as a carbon remover, but I have noticed that when I
disassemble an engine with a leaking head gasket, it's always easy to see which
cylinder has the leak, because it is much cleaner than the others.
