In asking about TR3 & TR4 engine differences, one of the things I was told
was:

cap and vented to the carbs.
My reputable engine shop has not seen many, if any, old Triumphs. They did a
good job, I think. I hung the accessories on it, and gotten the vacuum leak
to quit. I've run just the engine for 30 minutes at 2500 rpm's.
Unfortunately, the car's not near ready, but the engine sounds good
running-in-place.
It's got a TR4 distributor on it. It's also got both a road draft tube and
a valve cover w/ a cap and vented in the middle- proably for the air filter
or intake manifold (right?) And from what said above, this configuration
then is from differing years. Do you think I need to change valve covers?
Maybe too much venting? Should I plug a hole? Or maybe I ought to plug the
road draft tube hole (somehow)? I wonder if my road draft tube if left open
will cause obvious pollution to passer-bys, more noise, etc? Aniy other
suggestions for a first timer?
Thanks, Paul Dorsey
