Ok, you're wrong. :-) The bullet nose starter was used on the TR3A up to about 
60000 - I think. The way to tell which one you need is to examine the flywheel. 
If it's a bolt on, then the later starter is required, if it's a shrink fit, 
then the bullet nose is necessary. The shrink on should have the diagonal edge 
of the teeth facing forward, the opposite for the bolt on. Additionally, the 
transmission has to fit also. The later starter will not fit in a transmission 
bell housing designed for the bullet nose starter, the bullet nose starter will 
fit in a later transimission.
