Rich,
Here's a guess; if you have old rubber door seals maybe you need fresh ones
so door doesn't ever reach 2nd position, then you can adjust plates to line up
flush?
Note; the way you say 'upper part' of door is recessed also makes me wonder
about your hinges being 'out of alignment', ie; twisted door versus trued up
with fender planes..
Then again has door ever been re-skinned? - that could result in a slight
twist too if not done right.
Good luck,
Carl

I am trying to adjust the passenger door striker on my TR4. When the door is
closed and the latch is fully engaged in the second position in, the upper
part of the door is recessed about 1/8 of an inch. I have moved the stiker
plate
out as far as it wants to move. Is there a way to move the striker out
further, or another adjustment I am missing?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Rich
