Interesting Question, seems like lots of the cars in England have them. I
looked for years (25) for one and finally bought a car with one that I moved
over to my 4A and then sold the car.
I wonder who even knows the history of who made them for Triumph.

Thanks, Jerry. Hopefully someone on the Triumph list will have an answer.
Many of my refrences talk about them but I have never seen any numbers or any
reference as to who made them.
They were an option when ordering the TR4's. I know because when I ordered my
car (from the US distributor, for pickup in the UK) in March of '64, I
considered having one installed at the factory. I decided against it because I
wanted a true convertible.
I also know that I have seen very few TR4's in the US that had the Surrey Top
from new. A few years ago I did run into someone at a car show who had a TR4
that was only a hundred numbers later than mine. She told me that she had
picked hers up in England about a week after I did. She had the original
Surrey
Top that came from Coventry.
