You'll note (as suggested) --
Carbs are still in place, inverted the fuel line between them,
disconected main fuel line and removed air cleaners to get enough
clearance when they are pulled back to let manifold clear the studs.
The liners are clamped down with long sockets & big washers.
Cardboard over the openings for the pushrods... I could just see my self
dropping something in there.
Coil removed because (on mine anyway) had to pull the heater pipe away
from the head just a tad to clear it.
When I bought gaskets (Moss) the full set was cheaper than the head
gasket & manifold gasket sold separately and included all you might need.
I had a couple of manifold studs I didn't like the look of -- check them
too as it is a handy time to replace any.
I used the stock head gasket painted with a couple of coats of aluminum
paint. A close examination of your old gasket may tell you a lot about
what happened and if your liners are enough proud of the head to make a
good lasting impression.
I found it easier to pull up the bonnet higher than normal and secure it
to a hook in the ceiling so the prop rod could be left tucked in it's
holder out of the way. If you are going to hyper-extend the opening of
the bonnet a bit you might first slip a bit of cereal box cardboard
between the back edge of the bonnet and the vent lid so they don't meet.
