An observation -- here in Arizona last year the Phoenix Roman Catholic
Bishop killed a pedestrian in a hit & run accident. Police caught up
with him the next day as he was making arrangements to have his car
repaired. He got off with a few hours of community service.
Now it seems most of the time after a fatal accident around here the
driver at fault does a runner... people have worked out that the penalty
for hit & run is mild compared to what prosecutors and juries will do to
drunk or impaired drivers.
