Hi,
with the recent talk about having the correct distributor found out that I
have in my car distributor # 41212, Model
25D4. for which the specs are
RPM 1 2500 adv. 12 degr., RPM 2 700 8.75 degr., RPM 3 500 1.75 degr. This
distributor was for BMC Mini 1000 and Mini Clubman, Saloon and variants 998
cc.
No idea what is actually inside this dizzy.
For the TR4A the correct distributor is # 40795A, 25D4 with
foll. specs.
RPM 1 1200 adv. 10 degr., RPM 2 600 - 6 degr. RPM 3 350 - 1 degr.
In the engine I will have 87 mm pistons.
With Distr. 41212 the engine did run but did not have much power. However,
this could have caused by the correctly placed gasket between exh. manifold
and down pipe. Gasket was 90 degr. off and blocking the bores about 50%.
Any suggestions where I can have my dizzy matched up to the engine. TIA
