Continued this morning:
I decided this morning to reinstall the original carb, I wanted to know if
having the gasket on wrong was the problem. Once I had it mounted I primed
it and turned the key. Immediately the idle fell back into the normal range.
I pulled out my unisyn and synced up the carbs. The idle rose so I re
adjusted. Checked and reset the timing to 13 btdc however it seemed much
smoother at around 11 btdc. I glanced at the tach to see the rpms 1000.
Reset the idle using the unisyn to 800 rpms. It smoothed out so nicely. I
think I need to go on a 10 mile drive come back and check the plugs.. For I
am sure the 2 rear plugs are much darker than the front. Since the front
carb was doing all the work.
I'm still curious how it would run on the HS6 carbs.
