I apologize for reposting this, but AOL bunged up the formatting. Sorry for

Probably true. But to be fair, that's not just a VTR "attitude"; it crosses
all Triumph clubs and the hobby in general. At least VTR has long made
attempts to cater to ALL cars with Triumph (and Standard) badges...not JUST
TRs, not
JUST Spitfires and GT6s, not JUST (omigosh) Heralds. ;-)

[JC:] As far as getting maintenance information free, the Triumphs list is a
far better resource than the VTR maintenance pages. Instead of getting
the story from one source, you get the perspective of numerous sources,
most of which are first hand, and more importantly, "Correct".

I can't really argue this point. With a fair number of very knowledgeable
people reading this list, it's practically a 24/7/365 reference hotline. At the
same time, though, I can't begin to count the number of times advice on this
list has taken the form of "check out such and such a page on the VTR (or Dan
Master's, or [fill in name here] site"! It's always nice to be able to
"open a book" (in this case, a web site) and scan until you find what you're
looking for...and you don't have to wait (especially if you're on a digest
version of the list). And don't forget that there's the rare off-the-wall post
to
the list such as "Mott's Apple Sauce has always worked for me in the
differential, and it doesn't attack the yellow metal." :-)
There's definitely a place for both resources.

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
