Might be worth mentioning that although this procedure works for most cars, it
may be inaccurate on a TR2/3 especially if the felt seal has just been replaced.
Instead, I tighten the nut to 10 ft lb, which makes the bearing fairly tight
instead of just barely tight. Then back off by 1/2 flat (to get the clearance)
and a little bit more to get the cotter pin holes to line up.
