Sad, but not surprising. In today's automotive world, it's almost impossible
to survive without huge markets and huge piles of cash and major
partnerships. Look at the struggles of even moderately large Japanese
manufacturers such
as Mazda, Nissan and Subaru in recent years...and the partnerships that
largely keep those names going now. How long would Saab have lasted without
the
GM takeover? (Heck, GM couldn't even bother to keep Oldsmobile around....)
On the other hand, MG Rover has survived other struggles. Keep a good
thought! :-)
