Hi all,

Progress is well underway in beginning panel removel
of TS62xxx. The body is in pretty sound shape, but the
front fenders and trunk bottom are in need of
replacement (we'll just ignore trunk for now). I am
planning to place the fenders from TS42099L (with
which the front fenders are the only panels on the car
which are not hopelessly rusted)onto this "new" donor
body and thought I'd ask: I am aware that Triumph did
a relatively radical body redesign at TS60000 and I am
concerned that the front fenders might not fit.
Measurements seem to line up, but thought I'd check.
Did fenders and mounting points for said fenders
undergo any retooling at TS60000?

As I said, the donor body is in much better shape than
ol' TS42099L, but I still had a dickens of a time with
99% of the captive nuts and ended up grinding just
about every one of them off. I am planning to use
plain ol' nuts and bolts in every logical spot (which
is just about all of them) and probably tack weld nuts
in those spots were two hands won't stretch. Make
sense? Any "gotchas" out there and you think I'd be OK
just using the blue loctite to keep thinds from
loosening up?

It's exciting times right now and I look forward to
trying my hand at dent smoothing and minor metal
patching real soon. I might even try to rig up some
sort of rotessori contraption to enable me to work on
the underside while standing up. That would be nifty.
:)
