Thanks to referrals from the list I found an engine wiring harness to
replace the one that went up in flames. By the way, motorheadltd.com was a
pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend them.
Now, my problem is how to get the thing in there. The connections to the
alternator look to be fairly easily accessible but the connections to the
starter solenoid and oil pressure switch are really buried. I can't even
see them from any angle much less make the connections. The connection
through the firewall looks equally mysterious. Do I need to remove the dash
to get at the connectors?
Is there someone who's done this before who can give me some pointers on how
to go about this? I'd like to do this myself but if I need to do some major
disassembly this may be over my head. On the other hand summer is slipping
by fast and I really should be out there with the top down.
Thanks for any advice,
John
