until you install a tight fitting shroud around the fan and back to the
radiator, it will be all speculation. holding the fan back from the radiator
allows
for an unknown amount of bypass. the only true way to tell is using empirical
testing and that's what you will be doing when you fit it in the most
convenient place. also remember that the further away from the radiator that
you fit
the fan, the more air you will suck/blow around the radiator and not through
it.
