Thread-topic: ZS Carb puzzle solved
Thought this might be of use to others:

I recently rebushed and rebuilt the ZS carbs on my TR4. After putting them
back on the car, I found that I couldn't get the mixture right. The rear
carb was running very lean, and the front very rich, even with the jets
turned way out and all the way in, respectively.

After thinking about what could cause this problem with carbs that worked
pretty well before the rebuild, I pulled the jets and compared them to the
old ones. It turns out the jets that came with the rebuild kit have very
different orifice sizes than the originals -- one is larger and the other
smaller. I put in the old jets and was able to tune the mixture spot on.
