John, as always, it helps if you tell us what car your question is about.
With over 1000 people on the list, many of them with multiple cars, not to
mention encroaching CRS, I can't remember who has what !
But assuming this is about your 60 TR3A (your last message was still in my
trash folder), then Yes, the wires that exit the steering box are for the
turn signals and horn. There should be 4 wires, one rather heavy one that
grounds the horns to make them sound, and 3 smaller ones for the turn
signals. It's best not to trust the color codes, they are frequently wrong,
but they should be :
Green with brown Switch common (to flasher)
Green with red To LH turn signals
Green with white To RH turn signals
Brown with black To horns
My suggestion as to the next step would be to temporarily switch the
green/red and green/white wires where they connect to the harness. This
will make the turn signal switch work backwards (obviously don't drive the
car on the road like this), but you can see if the problem moves to the
other side or not. If it does, then you know the problem is between the
connections behind the horn, and the switch itself (including the switch).
If it doesn't move, then it must be between the connection and the LH turn
lamps.
