It's not *supposed* to work that way ... pulling the wire off the PDWA
should leave the oil light circuit functional.  Perhaps you're thinking of
what happens if you remove the brake warning bulb ...
or that with the PDWA connected and activated, the oil pressure light
doesn't work.
