Just fired up the TR4 for the first time in 2004. You may recall that I had
some carburetor problems last fall and Fred Thomas was gracious enough to
*give* me an SU H6 carb body. I decided to go ahead and replace the needles
and jets (the needles had some obvious defects)and seals/gaskets while I had
them off. Since I don't drive my car in the winter, I wasn't in any big hurry
to get it back on the road. I'm still a week or two from being able to pull
it out of the basement garage (I need to get a road built).
Anyway... I put everything back together today and thought I'd just crank on
it a couple of time and see what would happen. Much to my surprise, it fired
right up! Now my basement stinks to high heaven (I didn't bother to open the
door), but it was worth it just to hear it run again!
Thanks again Fred!!!
If the rain stays away (and my back yard dries up just a wee bit) I'll be back
on the road this week!
