Finally getting some stuff ready to put back together after xx years
apart.
But when I took the rear end cover off to check it out, it looks like
water got in there years ago - one solid blob. If anyone has a complete
rear axle for a TR4a preferably in Maine, New England (or anywhere) that
doesn't need any diff or axle work, reply off list please.
On a good note, the completed front suspension is amazing - 4 piston
Toyota pickup truck calipers that replace the Girling 2 piston ones,
drilled and slotted rotors from BPNW with ceramic Kevlar pads; springs
are 20% uprated from BPNW 1" drop; all new grade 8 hardware, powder
coated, polyurethane bushings throughout. Lower fulcrum points have 2
studs instead of 1 (weak point) and steel backing plates to strengthen
the frame mounting points. Also have Koni adjustables for the front.
Today, I got the rebuilt and HD valved rear Armstrong lever shocks back
from Apply Hydraulics - really nice work.
