My suggestion would be to recheck the end play and adjust the shim pack if
necessary.  A cheap dial indicator and magnetic stand is less than $20 from

If you can tap it around with a hammer, it's OK, IMO.

Not certain, but I believe both springs should be under the shoes.  The
spring for the adjuster side has a long straight section where it goes past
the adjuster.
