Can I use this same Krylon to paint over the flat black Rustoleum I put on
the fan blade and what not? Or should I use, as someone suggested, Rustoleum
black barbecue paint that is more grease resistant?

I suppose you are after more gloss???

#1 I don't think Rustoleum Barbecue Black is much glossier than the Flat
Black. I doubt that it is much more grease resistant than the Flat
Black......only more heat resistant.

#2 Personal preference......don't much like Rustoleum after using it a
lot.....too soft......to thick.....to hard to spray.......et. al. and
especially
takes so long to cure out.......soooooooo........

#3 How long has the Rustoleum cured on your fan blades.......a couple of
months??......then you could probably scuff with a 3-M Scotchbrite pad,
RED,...for tooth.....and spray a very light coat of Krylon.........hopefully in
a place
that doesn't show.....and see if it lifts the paint.......that's where the
problem will be........if you get by with that........spray several very light
coats, almost misty (don't even TRY to cover) with lot's of drying time between
coats........like a day each in 70 deg. temp......if all is well, then you
can spray like regularly.....if it were me.......I'd probably start with some
Krylon black sandable primer......till I got several coats on.......then go
with
the gloss.......it would be great if you had something you could test.......

#4 There are many problems in changing systems, eh???

#5 Hate to tell you this.........if it were me..........having been
there.........sometimes the best fix is to start over...........fan blade
off.........strip with some paint remover........Krylon primer 3
coats......hey, 20-30
min. each at 70 deg........then 2-3 coats gloss........allowing to 'flash off'
between each coat....... If any of the above produces bubbles or
lifting......you're gonna be at #5 anyhow........unless you can live with
mess.........

Good luck and Cheers!

Clark

P.S. Will keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't lift.................cause
I know what you are gonna try first............<g>..........

P.P.S. Can any else out there help us out here?.........I got at least 50
spray cans in the basement........but...........I'm certainly no
expert........Please chime in, eh?
