Hi List!
John did Not mention that many TR4/A's that came into the US had the
solid axle, as well as the IRS as an option. the TR4 hood comes off the
hoodsticks & the sticks are hidden behind the back interior cover. Where
the TR4/A did NOT have the hood come off the hoodsticks, which takes up
room in the back interior. The TR4 has the handbrake on the right side
of the tranny cover & the TR4/A has the handbrake mounted on top of the
propeller hump. The TR4/A has the chrome side lamps & strip on the side
to the door handle & the TR4 does NOT. The TR4 is positive earth & the
TR4/A is negative earth. The TR4 has a Spa White dash & later models
came with wood, while ALL TR4/A's came with a full wood dash. There is a
difference between the TR4 & TR4/A solid axles. The TR4/A has a center
support from the dash to the floor, where the TR4 does NOT. The TR4/A
has a two speed windscreen wiper motor, where the TR4 doesn't. There is
a difference between the grills. The TR4 has the parking lamps in the
grill. The TR4/a comes with a scissors jack, where the TR4 has the jack
go through the floor of the passenger & driver. There is also a
difference in the way the hood attaches ti the top of the windscreen.
The TR4 came with a short bubble bonnet for a short tim & then went to
the long bubble bonnet for the rest of the TR4 & TR4/A series. There is
a difference in the starter solenoid, as well as carb set ups throughout
the TR years. All TR4/A's have the pollution on them. [thanks to Ralph

I think that's about it, but I'm sure that others will think of
something else that I haven't. ;-) I'm sorry for coming into this
thread so late, but this is the first chance that I've had to respond to
this thread because of other things going on & I'm on the TR Digest List
;-) .
