Whoa there!!! - a tiny detail to most of you maybe, but I have to chime in here 
to defend the "Ferguson" tractor, which used a derivative of the Vanguard 
engine. The "Ford-Ferguson" tractor was a Ford, that used a flathead four, 
essentially half of a Ford V8 engine from the 30s. It was called "Ford-
Ferguson" as it was a "Ford", with the "Ferguson system" (of implement 
attachment).
(Ferguson owners are sensitive to having their machines mistaken for Fords - 
kind of like having your TR mistaken for an MG - gasp...)
