Yep, it is a stud welder for dent pulling. Rather than drill a hole for a
sheet metal screw slide hammer, this welder spots a finishing nail sized stud
to
the panel. The nails sometimes are threaded on one end to allow attachment
to a slide hammer.
The advantage is no holes in the sheetmetal and the ability to pull from
multiple areas and / or come back to a area and pull again.
This is not a spot welder for fastening two pieces of metal together, need
something larger for that.
