When my heater core started leaking, spewing, hot water into the
passenger compartment I blocked off both heater hoses. I used a couple
of 1/2" bolts with hose clamps. I just happened to have the bolts in my
tool box. I bought the clamps at the gas station where I was stranded.
Now I always carry these items in my tool kit.
